What is Slitting?
Slitting is the process of cutting, length-wise, sheets of metal, plastic or fabric, into strips. Slitting is done to standard sizes, as in coils of 2 inch steel strip, commonly used in stamping small parts, such as clips, or custom sizes as required. For the slitting process, the rigidity, extensibility, smoothness, thickness, etc. of the original slit film should be considered in order to set the slitting process parameters in a targeted manner. When different composite structures are slit, the process parameters are set differently. For example: BOPET's commonly used products are thinner and have high strength and are not easily stretched. Compared with BOPP, CPP, CPE and other easily stretchable films, the slitting method is different.
